Product Features & System Environment

No, migrating data only goes through DMB and DMB does not store the data.  DMB stores only log data in the server.

DMB can use the standard protocols SMB, FTP(S), SFTP or WebDAV. We highly recommend you use SMB (with the default ports configuration) so the that servers where DMB is installed can mount the data servers folders as network drives in Windows. DMB can use the network drives as the source for the migration.

DMB uses the OneDrive REST API.  DMB does not use ActiveX or Windows Explorer's sync functions.

Yes, DMB needs to be installed on a device.

DMB is a third party application, and thus does not use Box's APIs assigned to its users. File synchronization is unlimited.

DMB Standard version has no limit on the number of simultaneous users. With DMB Basic version, the user number is limited to one per one cloud storage.

Yes, DMB is a backup tool as well. A DMB user can set up differential synchronization schedule and automate periodic / routine sync operations.

Yes, DMB works two-ways. A user can migrate data from clouds to on-premise or synchronize cloud data with on-premise data.

Yes, DMB supports virtual environment such as Azure VM, AWS VM, etc..

For license activation, the device in which DMB is installed needs to connect the following URL. Please make sure this URL is permitted.

HTML: www.dmb.junglejapan.com

Please mount "Amazon 3" as a network drive from the device in which DMB is installed. DMB then treats "Amazon 3" as a networked drive and performs data migration and synchronization.

DMB can encrypt data prior to upload. When encrypted data was uploaded to a cloud, it will remain encrypted in the cloud storage, and the cloud cannot decrypt it.
Encryption
An encrypted file will have "encoded" extension to its file name, and it will not open if viewed through a browser or downloaded.
Decryption
To decrypt a file, you need to enter the password using a PC in which DMB is installed. Even if the source device has failed, an encrypted file can be decrypted using other PCs in which DMB is installed.

While character code differs by cloud storage, certain characters may not be usable, e.g., a file name starting with a blank space, platform dependent characters, certain marks, etc.

If a file or folder has such characters, please rename them using a rename tool. Examples of such characters include:
[Backslash \] [Slash /] [Double quotation "] [Colon :] [Inequality <, >] [Vertical bar |] [Asterisk *] [Question mark ?]

Dropbox Business and SSO programs are implemented.

Yes, DMB supports command line. Please refer to DMB User Manual, Chapter III.

Please update to IE 11 (Latest version).
